A developer is looking to build a new apartment complex that would include affordable housing units, and its plans were just moved forward by the Westminster Common Council on Monday May 13, 2019.
Housing for Low-Middle Income Families
The developer, Conifer Realty LLC, has said that units in the building would be reserved for those with an income that is lower than 60% of the area’s median income. Nine of the 35 units will be rented at market price.
The property on which the complex will be built is located at the intersection of Md. 140 and West Main Street. It was owned by Western Maryland College Inc. who sold to Conifer Realty LLC. The rent rates will range between $500 and $1,100 per month.
